Europe's Beating Cancer Plan: Subgroup Cancer

A project for: European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA)

BRIEF

The Challenge

The challenge of this project revolves around the significant impact of cancer in Europe, claiming the lives of approximately 1,335,000 individuals annually.

The objective is to support Member States in enhancing cancer prevention and care, an initiative laid out in the European Commission's Europe's Beating Cancer Plan.

This specific project focuses on organizing numerous meetings, scientific webinars, and the completion of studies to aid in implementing the Beating Cancer Plan while managing and engaging expert groups within the Health Policy Platform.

FOCUS

The Approach

The strategy involves a variety of tasks, such as focusing on arranging expert and stakeholder meetings in Brussels or Luxembourg.

This encompasses administrative services, logistics, and communication services. Additionally, we focus on coordinating and providing scientific support, including preparing discussion papers on health risks associated with sunbed use, mapping the situation as regards sunbeds in the Member States, conducting a survey among the expert group members, and moderating scientific webinars.

This approach aims to foster collaboration and disseminate knowledge within the field, gather insights and propose potential recommendations to mitigate health risks associated with sunbed use.

CONCLUSIONS

The Envisioned Result

By means of organising meetings and the coordination and scientific support to the expert group, the envisioned result is a comprehensive understanding of measures in place and potential strategies to reduce health risks associated with sunbed usage at both national and EU levels.

Partners Involved

We are collaborating with Intellera, CECOFORMA, and Empirica on this project.
