Sergio (PhD) is a Health Data Manager at PredictBy with a background in biomedical engineering. At PredictBy he contributes to European and national projects that combine data and analytics to improve healthcare. He brings over a decade of experience at the intersection of artificial intelligence and health, with a strong focus on developing and applying interpretable machine learning tools for early diagnosis, treatment recommendation, and risk prediction.

Before joining PredictBy, Sergio was a researcher at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, where he developed clinical decision-support platforms in cardiology and obstetrics with a focus on global health. His experience spans academia, the biomedical sector, and the pharmaceutical industry, where he led real-world data initiatives and developed AI-enhanced clinical solutions using imaging, biomarkers, and electronic health records.

Outside of work, Sergio is a passionate road cyclist and runner, often embarking on bikepacking trips with friends and climbing the steepest roads he can find. On quieter days, he enjoys reading, playing cards with his family, or cuddling with his dog.
