Climate change and environmental degradation pose an existential threat to both Europe and the world. To address these critical challenges, the European Commission introduced the Green Deal, with the ambitious goal of making Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. As part of this effort, the European Climate Pact was created to unite individuals, communities, and organizations in the fight against climate change and adapt to its consequences.

The Approach

ClimatePact is a platform that promotes the exchange of information, debates and developing a collective sense for climate action solutions. Its core objective is to inspire and drive climate action at the local level by connecting communities, regions, industries, schools, and civil society.

The platform offers scientifically sound information, practical solutions, and examples of impactful actions across key sustainability areas, including green areas, green transport, green buildings and green skills.

Organizations interested in contributing to climate action can join the Pact community, while individuals have the opportunity to participate as Climate Pact Ambassadors. These ambassadors aim to inspire and mobilize climate initiatives within their communities and networks. Other ways to engage include organizing group activities, tracking personal efforts to reduce carbon footprints, and collaborating with like-minded individuals to build a more sustainable future.

Pact Community members can engage in networking activities, and have access to tools, resources and capacity-building activities that help to amplify their impact.
