GRAVITATE HEALTH: Empowering citizens to encourage safe use of medicines through better provision of information

The
Challenge
Engaging citizens in their own health is one of the current challenges of healthcare systems. Gravitate Health’s mission is to equip and empower citizens with digital information tools that make them confident, active, and responsive in their patient journey, specifically encouraging the safe use of medicines for improved adherence, better health outcomes, and higher quality of life.

Approach
This project starts by eliciting the needs of stakeholders, such as patients, health professionals, healthcare systems, and industry. This information is used to prepare tools and technical architecture design.
Subsequently, an open-source platform is developed and integrated for internal quality assurance, usability and acceptance in selected scenarios involving citizens, health professionals, and patients.
The feedback is used for real-world validation. This data will be collected to demonstrate the value and safety, efficiency, efficacy, and cost-effectiveness. Also, user acceptance, accessibility, privacy, security, vulnerability, liability, and trust will be assessed.

The envisioned result
This project's ambition is to provide patients with one place for their medical information by developing the G-lens, which focuses on approved electronic product information content and offers direction for patients to access up-to-date and trustworthy information that better meets their individual needs based on their medical history.

Our role in this Gravitate Health project consists of conducting the following tasks:

Deploy and monitor the G-lens in a pilot: As part of the team of the testing scenario in Spain, we cooperate on the deployment and monitoring of the Gravitate Health services and solutions in the real world.

Assess the impact of the G-lens: in this task, an evaluation framework is designed to assess the impact of Gravitate Health and G-lens, to ensure a consistent, complete, and feasible plan for data collection across the testing sites while tracking KPI’s.
